An Effective Introduction to Spectral Analysis
Astronomers learn important information about the composition of stars by analyzing their spectra. To gain an understanding of this process, students use a spectroscope to observe and describe the spectra of four different chemical salts when heated by a flame. The kit comes with four salts, four nichrome wire test loops, six spectroscopes, a teacher’s guide, and student copymasters. It includes enough materials for 30 or more tests.
