This accurate Trippensee celestial globe features easy readability. An exclusive color-coded design helps students see the stars as observed from the Earth, while a calibrated interior horizon ring simplifies and clarifies the portion of the sky visible to the observer. The horizon ring also allows the observer to locate celestial objects with the horizon coordinate system as well as the equatorial coordinate system. In addition, a 15 cm transparent Earth globe in the center of the celestial globe enables the observer to properly orient himself on the Earth. The Sun model revolves independently in an uninterrupted 360 degree path around the Earth following the ecliptic. The globe is mounted on a plastic base with a magnetic compass at the center.
