Product Information

Used for experiments dealing with heat absorption of light surfaces versus dark surfaces.

Students fill both cans with water and place a thermometer in each. They turn on light at 10 cm distance and observe how temperature rises in the black can (absorbs heat from light source) and remains essentially the same in the silver can (reflects light).

In a reverse experiment, the rates of cooling can be determined after the light is turned off.
Each kit Includes a 16 oz. black metal and a 16 oz. shiny metal can, two insulating lids, two thermometers (-20° to 50°C), and a 120V, AC clamp lamp, with reflector and 100 watt light bulb.

Note: Only 4 AC clamp lamps are included in 66027-15.
