Blower weaker than needed

Unless you are only using the hovercraft I bought the blower for with very light children the battery powered blower matched with the hovercraft is underpowered. Since it only has a battery that lasts less than 15 minutes and is very slow to charge (overnight) it allows few people/children to use the hovercraft at a session. It will barely lift a 200 lb adult high enough to allow practical use, but with light kids it does better. Will have to try it as a leaf blower I guess on a short sidewalk!!! Needs a fast 1 hour charger. No indication on the battery or included paperwork that three of us could find of the type battery. We think it is a NiCad battery. For the same price as this battery blower we bought a 12 amp 120 volt Sears Craftsman blower/vac which worked much better but we needed an extra person to handle the extension cord. That did get more people involved in the fun. We could also use the unit as long as the participants (adults and childres)desired.

The unit came as two boards with the screws pulled out of the second (bottom) board. SK was willing to take it back but I needed it before it could be replaced so I bought more screws and put it back together using twice as many screews as originally installed. It worked OK but the battery powered blower did not have the power needed and I used a 12 amp Sears Vac/Blower instead and it worked fairly well. It is hard to keep the blower in the blower hole on the hovercraft. Most kids and adults had it pop out of the hole while using it. Needs a screw in flange or quick disconnect and mount for the blower to keep it in place. Overpriced for what you get. It is fun when you get it working. Several people who had made them suggested smaller and more holes in the cloth on the bottom. T nuts and machine screws would solve the screws coming out of the wood problem since the unit has less than 1/2" of wood to hold the wood screws it is shipped with. Hope to try a gas more powerful blower in the future to get more ground clearance for rougher ground. Only used it on indoor wood, tile and cement floors so far.
