Product Information

This activity simulates the possible effects of an introduced non-native species on the population of native species.

Students pretend to be different species of native birds and collect food with their unique “beaks”. A non-native species is introduced and the effects on the native population are charted. Developed by Randyll Warehime.

Includes materials for 30 students: kidney beans, plastic spoons, cocktail cups, jumbo colored paperclips, pipe cleaners, blue plastic straws, magnets, markers, safety tape, red vinyl tape, laminated data table (60 x 91 cm), instructions.
