Frog Respiration Graphing Lab (Teacher-Developed, Classroom-Tested)
|
Product Information
The scientific method, particularly the necessity of a control in every experiment, is often difficult for students to understand. This lab, developed by Nancy Kick, provides a memorable way to reinforce this concept. Students first study the exterior anatomy of live frogs, then use identical setups for the control frog and the test frog to discover how temperature affects the frogs’ respiration rate. Finally, students graph their data to obtain a clear understanding of their results. This inquiry activity is aligned with the National Science Education Standards. Twelve live frogs are required, but not included. Includes instructions. For grades 8–10.
